Meet Elaine from E-Design Studio

Hello and welcome to my very first blog article for Australian Makers Magazine!

I’m Elaine, the maker behind E Design Studio, where I create handmade quilts, gifts and keepsakes from my little studio in Queensland.

I’ve always been a creative person. Before sewing became such a big part of my life, I was a professional dancer, so I suppose creating has always been in me it has just taken on a different form over the years!

At the moment I’m working on getting my new studio finished, which has been an exciting journey. Then all the Christmas making can continue in my lovely new space.

I love creating pieces that are made to be used, loved and kept. Whether it’s a quilt for a new baby, birthday bunting that comes out year after year, or a keepsake made especially for someone, I think handmade pieces have a wonderful way of becoming part of our memories.

Sustainability is important to me too. I use quality fabrics and try to make use of my off-cuts wherever I can, turning them into smaller gifts and keepsakes rather than letting beautiful fabric go to waste.

I’m looking forward to sharing a little more of my handmade world with you.

You can purchase my hand-sewn products in my Made It Store.
